IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator

Mission Walkthroughs

Player-facing route through each demo mission with resources, target priorities, and medal notes.

Calibration Fire

Iron Nest has been commissioned. Pre-operational ranging is required before active deployment. A target has been designated by High Command for calibration purposes. Confirmation of fire accuracy is the sole objective.

Objectives

  • Plot the calibration target on the map and land a HE shell on it.
  • Use the mission to practice the full Receiver -> Map -> Calculator -> Loader -> Aim -> Fire loop.

Practical route

  • Do not rush the first shot. This is the low-pressure mission for learning the station order.
  • The efficiency medal is about using as few shots as possible, so correct the map solution before firing again.

Start by plotting the mission map, then prioritize Civil Rioting.

Fire & Light

Intelligence has identified an anti-monarchist element operating within the city. Separately, High Command has scheduled a celebratory illumination over the Royal Palace to mark the General's peace initiative. Iron Nest has been assigned both operations.

Objectives

  • Triangulate and destroy the hostile city targets with HE.
  • Use STAR shells for the illumination task when the mission order calls for light rather than blast.
  • Avoid the friendly VIP and civilian markers around the palace.

Practical route

  • Observer reports and recon photos matter more than raw shell count here.
  • Separate combat targets from ceremonial STAR-shell tasks so you do not waste damage shells.

Start by plotting the mission map, then prioritize Civil Rioting, Civilian, Civilian.

Liberation

Anti-monarchist forces have maintained an occupation of Ciudad Real. High Command has ordered the city restored to the Crown. Iron Nest has been repositioned to support the operation. Requisition procurement is authorised to meet operational requirements.

Objectives

  • Clear the hostile infantry in the urban sector.
  • Use Scout Plane intel to confirm the ammunition cache across the river.
  • Use AP ordnance on the ammunition cache, then finish the remaining infantry.

Practical route

  • The cache is armored, so do not waste HE on it if AP is available.
  • Friendly civilians, police, hospitals, and observers make sloppy area fire expensive.

Start by plotting the mission map, then prioritize Ammunition Cache, Infantry.

Counter-Battery

Enemy forces have deployed artillery across the river in response to recent operations. This was anticipated. Iron Nest has been cleared for active engagement under direct fire conditions for the first time.

Objectives

  • Destroy the enemy field artillery first.
  • Prepare follow-up shots before the first impact starts counter-battery pressure.
  • After the artillery is down, clear the remaining hostile infantry while avoiding friendly troops.

Practical route

  • Treat the first shot as the start of the clock. Set up the second shot before firing if possible.
  • Field artillery buys the most survival value because it is directly tied to counter-battery pressure.

Start by plotting the mission map, then prioritize Field Artillery, Infantry. Counter-battery timer: Starts at 5:00 when triggered. Counter-battery time extension: Can add 100 seconds from mission progress. Set up the next shot before the first impact when possible.

Uncontested Engagement

Enemy forces have been caught mid-resupply in an exposed position. No counter-battery threat has been identified in the sector. High Command has authorised engagement at Iron Nest's discretion.

Objectives

  • Destroy the exposed hostile sector while there is no counter-battery threat.
  • Use AP against underground or armored supply caches.
  • Spend requisition on efficient cleanup rather than emergency survival.

Practical route

  • No counter-battery threat means you can spend more time solving clean shots.
  • Caches are valuable targets because the mission text says their destruction yields requisition.

Start by plotting the mission map, then prioritize Ammunition Cache, Armor Mechanized, Field Artillery, Field Artillery Observer, Infantry.

Counter Battery Challenge

Three enemy columns converge on the river crossing. Counter-battery fire commences with the first shot, High Command requires maximum kills before the position is silenced.

Objectives

  • Destroy as many hostile units as possible before counter-battery pressure ends the mission.
  • Prioritize underground Fire Direction Centers with AP because they control enemy counter-battery coordination.
  • Use Emergency Move and intel cards only when they buy enough time or accuracy to keep the run alive.

Practical route

  • AP is the key shell for Fire Direction Centers and supply caches.
  • This is a pressure mission: favor quick confirmed shots over perfect but slow plotting.

Start by plotting the mission map, then prioritize Ammunition Cache, Armor Mechanized, Field Artillery, Fire Direction Center, Infantry. Counter-battery timer: Starts at 10:00 when triggered. Counter-battery time extension: Can add 30 seconds from mission progress. Set up the next shot before the first impact when possible.
