IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator

Beginner Guide

What to do first in the IRON NEST demo, from reading orders to firing and checking the result.

First loop

  1. Read the new order at the Receiver and identify the target or clue.
  2. Open the Tactical Map and mark every known observer, target, and Iron Nest position.
  3. Use bearings or distances to solve the target point, then measure range and bearing from Iron Nest.
  4. Use the Ballistic Calculator to turn shell type, range, and powder charge into elevation.
  5. At the Loader, select a shell, add powder, and ram the load.
  6. Set bearing with the Rotator and elevation with the Elevator.
  7. Arm and fire at the Trigger, then read the result before spending more ammunition.

First mission

Calibration Fire gives you HE and HCHE shells with no requisition cards. Use it to learn the map-to-calculator-to-loader chain before the demo introduces scout and counter-battery pressure.

Common mistakes

  • Do not fire before checking shell type, powder charge, bearing, and elevation. One wrong station can waste the whole shot.
  • Do not buy Scout Plane before you know what location needs recon. Its value is positional information.
  • In counter-battery missions, remember that the first shell impact can start the timer. Prepare your next shot before firing.
